Quay Frazier, founder of Smokin’ on Some Brass, is a New Orleans saxophonist, vocalist, and music producer. Formerly a teacher with the New Orleans Jazz Institute, Quay received his Bachelor of Arts in History and Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans. He is a member of Corey Henry and the Treme Funktet, touring extensively with performances at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Brooklyn Bowl, and the Toronto Jazz Festival, to name a few. A former member of Delfayeo Marsalis’ Uptown Jazz Orchestra, Quay performed weekly at the legendary Snug Harbor. He has shared the stage with such greats as Wynton Marsalis, Charmaine and Cyril Neville, Lil Wayne, Ike Stubblefield, and Tony! Toni! Toné! Quay has had several guest appearances in film and radio, performing on NCIS: New Orleans, the HBO hit show Treme, Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil, and NPR’s American Routes. He enjoys performing annually at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, French Quarter Fest, and Satchmo SummerFest.

Ricio Fruge is a New Orleans-based trumpeter, composer, and educator. A soulful and versatile musician, Ricio performs with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, John Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, and the Grammy Award winning New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO). He attended the prestigious Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida. Ricio holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in Jazz from Florida State University, and a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University. Ricio has spent over a decade working with under-served youth, founding the Trumpet Studio to provide a positive community for local trumpeters of all levels and backgrounds.

Born and raised in the seaside city of Kagoshima, Japan, Keiko Komaki began her musical journey in classical piano at the age of five. An accomplished pianist and B-3 player, Keiko graduated from Tokyo’s Kunitachi College of Music. A funky and dynamic keyboardist, Keiko arrived in New Orleans in 2006. It wasn’t long before Keiko was asked to join the Blues Queen of New Orleans, the late Marva Wright. Over the years, Keiko has played with some of New Orleans’ finest musicians, including George Porter, Johnny Vidacovich, June Yamagishi, and the Brass-A-Holics. Since 2013, Keiko has performed with “Playing for Change,” an international multimedia music project featuring musicians and singers from around the world. Keiko’s work with PFC has taken her to over twenty countries in Europe, Australia, Japan, and South America. PFC also landed Keiko on some of the most prestigious stages including the United Nations, the John F. Kennedy Center, Argentina Direct TV Arena, the New Orleans Jazz Festival, the Byron Blues Festival, and many more. With PFC she shared the stage with artists such as the Doobie Brothers, Little Feats, Lee Oscar, Keb Mo, Ellis Hall, and Victor Wooton, just to name a few. In 2019, PFC released a video “The Weight.” Performing in the video, Keiko joined Robbie Robertson of The Band, Ringo Starr of the Beatles, and Marcus King. The video was hailed by Rolling Stone Magazine. Keiko also performs each year for the New Orleans-based gospel band “Joyful,” which has taken her on tour to Spain, Italy, and Germany.

Lenny Green is an American soul singer, songwriter, and music producer from New Orleans. Green’s velvety smooth voice and old-school R&B style has established him as a dynamic and energetic singer in the thriving New Orleans music scene. He has performed with a host of musicians that include Renard Poche of The Allen Touissant Band, Corey Henry and The Treme Funktet, Michael Ray of Kool and the Gang, Erica Falls, Living Colour, Papa Gros, Roland Guerin, New Orleans legends Irma Thomas and Deacon John, as well as the venerable Ike Stubblefield. Green performs at various festivals including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, Jazz in the Park, as well as several residencies at famed live music venues such as Tipitina’s, The Maple Leaf, Vaughan’s Lounge, and d.b.a. His solo debut LP, All or Nothing, dropped in 2019. Since then, he’s released three singles during the pandemic. Green was featured on an episode of NCIS: New Orleans with the Erica Falls band. In addition to being a founding member of the funky rock band Percy J., Green's latest project, the band SweetFunk, harkens back to the super sounds of the 70’s. SweetFunk is a collaborative of New Orleans’ musicians united in funk. Their debut album will drop Fall 2022.
 

Originally from Nicosia, capital city of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, Christos Melios began playing the guitar at the age of ten. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies from the University of New Orleans. Christos was awarded a full Jazz Guitar Scholarship, completing his Master’s degree in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas. In addition to playing with Smokin’ on Some Brass, Christos has shared the stage with the legendary Shannon Powell and is currently the guitar player for three-time Grammy Nominee Sean Ardoin.
